OCCIMA is the authorised body in Owerri for issuing Certificates of Origin — required for most export transactions.
A Certificate of Origin certifies that goods in a consignment were wholly obtained, produced or manufactured in Nigeria. Customs authorities in the destination country use it to determine duty rates and to apply preferential trade arrangements. Most importers will not clear a consignment without one. Chambers of commerce are the recognised issuing authority, and OCCIMA issues for businesses operating in Imo State.
