About OCCIMA

The umbrella body representing all private sector operators in Imo State. Established 1970. Affiliated with NACCIMA.

Our History

Five Decades of Private Sector Leadership

1970

Founded in Owerri

Established as an association limited by guarantee in Owerri, providing a unified voice for private sector operators in the post-civil war South-East economy.

1980s

Agriculture and mining join

Expanded membership to include agricultural and mining sectors, deepening the chamber's reach across all productive industries in Imo State.

1990s

NACCIMA affiliation

Became affiliated with NACCIMA as Imo State's representative chamber, positioning OCCIMA in national private sector discourse.

2000s

Opening international corridors

Launched the Indo-Nigeria Business Summit, opening new trade corridors and connecting Imo businesses to international markets.

2020s

A permanent home at FSP Park

Opened new headquarters at FSP Park, Owerri, a permanent home for the chamber and a hub for Imo State's business community.
