About Trade Groups
Trade groups are OCCIMA's sector-specific sub-committees. Each group has its own elected chairman, tailored activity programme, and direct advocacy agenda focused on the concerns of businesses in that sector. While OCCIMA represents all Imo businesses collectively, trade groups give individual sectors a more focused, specialist voice within the chamber. Membership in a trade group is available to all OCCIMA Full and Corporate Members.
Each group formally represents its sector in OCCIMA council discussions and government submissions.
Trade group members gain access to cross-group referral networks and joint events.

Any group of 10 or more OCCIMA members operating in the same sector can petition the executive council to establish a new trade group. The petition must be submitted in writing to the OCCIMA Secretariat, signed by all founding members, with a proposed name, sector description, and charter of activities.
Have 10+ OCCIMA members in an underrepresented sector? We want to hear from you.
