OCCIMA provides the infrastructure, documentation, and access Imo businesses need to grow.
A Certificate of Origin (CoO) is an official document certifying the country in which the goods being exported were produced or manufactured. It is a mandatory requirement for international trade, required by customs authorities in virtually all export destinations.
OCCIMA is the sole body authorised by the Federal Government to issue Certificates of Origin for businesses exporting goods from Owerri and Imo State. Attempting to export without this document will result in goods being held at customs.
Applications are processed within 2-3 working days for standard requests. Express processing is available subject to availability. Full and Corporate OCCIMA Members are eligible to apply.
Apply for Certificate⚠️ This service is for genuine business travellers only. OCCIMA does not support travel applications without a verifiable business purpose.
OCCIMA issues official letters of introduction and support documentation for members travelling internationally for legitimate business purposes. These documents are widely recognised by embassies and consulates and significantly improve visa application success rates.
This service is available exclusively to OCCIMA Full and Corporate Members and is strictly for genuine business travel. Applications must include full details of the travel purpose, destination, and intended business activity.
OCCIMA is Imo State's voice in the corridors of power. Through our affiliation with NACCIMA, we represent the Imo private sector at both state and federal government levels, making submissions to the National Assembly, participating in government consultations, and engaging regulatory agencies on behalf of our members.
Our advocacy work has resulted in the removal of illegal levies, improvements to industrial estate infrastructure, and the adoption of business-friendly policies at the state level. Every Full and Corporate Member benefits from this advocacy, whether or not they are directly involved.
We will never stop fighting for the Imo business community. When government acts in ways that harm our members, OCCIMA will be there to speak truth to power.
OCCIMA organises and facilitates international trade missions, enabling Imo businesses to connect with foreign buyers, suppliers, and investors. The chamber's flagship event, the Indo-Nigeria Business Summit, has been connecting Imo businesses with Indian trade partners for over two decades.
